Six Salisbury-Elk Lick band members participated in the Somerset County Band Festival on November 29-30 held at Berlin Brothersvalley High School. A public concert was held at the conclusion of the two-day festival.

Congratulations to Nolan Easton, a junior at Salisbury-Elk Lick High School, for earning a seat in District Band. The auditions were recently held at Northern Cambria High School for high school musicians from our four counties. Nolan will be playing trumpet as he represents our school in January at the District 6 Band Festival at Greater Johnstown High School.

Yesterday students in grades 8 and 11 went on a field trip to tour the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in D.C. The students were also able to visit the Lincoln Memorial and the World War II Memorial while on their trip.

Fruit Orders

The Music Department at Salisbury-Elk Lick School District was well represented at the Somerset County Chorus Festival on Nov. 20-21. Under the direction of Mrs. Lori Sines, 15 Salisbury students participated in the two day music festival. A concert was held for the public at Conemaugh Township High School on Nov. 21.

The Art Club Pottery Party Fundraiser was a great success! We had 30 participants and 5 Art Club Helpers. Fun was had by all! If you missed this one, don't worry. We will be doing another Pottery Party in the spring.

Somerset County Coaches Association held the Somerset County 32nd Annual All-Star Volleyball Banquet 2023 Sunday, November 19th. Congratulations to 9th grader Taylor Short for making 2nd team, and congratulations to 9th grader Peyton Hotchkiss for making Honorable Mention!

Congratulations to our FFA students!


Mrs. Shafer and Mrs. Miller took 6 of our FFA students to the FFA National Convention in Indiana on Nov. 1-4. While on their trip, they attended the FFA National Convention General Sessions and the College & Career Fair. They were also able to tour Churchill Downs, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Hunter's Honey Farm, White River Paintball, Twisted Room Escapes, & The Indianapolis Zoo. At the zoo, the students were given a behind the scenes tour of the dolphin area and the elephant barns.
