Today we held our annual Veteran's Day Program. Our guest speaker was Mr. Steven L. Miller.
Mr. Miller was born and raised in Somerset. He graduated Somerset High School in 1971. After graduation Steven enlisted in the US Army and served from 1971 to 1975. He served a tour in Vietnam, and also served in the Canal Zone, Republic of Panama. Steven attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania from 1976-1979, where he was awarded a BA in Criminal Justice and graduated Magna Cum Laude. From 1980 to 1983, Steven attended Tulane University School of Law and was awarded Juris Doctorate. Commissioned US Air Force from 1983-1992 and served as Judge Advocate. He was deployed to Desert Shield/Desert Storm from 1990-1991. Steven resigned his commission and opened a private practice in Somerset in 1993. He retired from active practice of law in 2000, and has become a big believer in doing nothing and having afternoon naps! Steven is a life member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 587, a member of the American Legion Post 181, and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 554.
After the program, Veterans were invited to stay for lunch with some members of our Student Government.

Yesterday, Pep Club had a craft day with our elementary students. There were a variety of crafts and coloring sheets for each grade, and some of our high school students stopped by to read a book.
Mrs. Shafer's Advanced Floral Class made Halloween Movie themed arrangements. Movie themes were BEETLEJUICE, Haunted Mansion, Little Shop of Horrors. Great job to all of the students!
Yesterday Mrs. Wilson coordinated a Stop the Bleed training for some of our high school students.
Trunk or Treat was held last Friday evening in the SEL parking lot! Thank you to all who participated.
