
Announcements – September 16, 2021
• Good morning teachers and students of Salisbury Elk-Lick High School. Today is Thursday, September 16th, 2021. School Day 14.
• Lunch today includes: Corn Dog Nuggets, Smiley Potatoes, Steamed Peas
Alternatives are: Chef Salad, Crispy Chicken Smackers, PB&J.
• Weather: Cloudy all day, high of 72. Chance of rain this afternoon and evening.
• Fun Fact: We throw away enough ribbon each year to tie a bow around the entire Earth.
• Salisbury apparel is on sale now. Order forms and money need to be turned in to Ms. Stutzman or Mr. DiPasquale by next Monday. Order forms are located on the bulletin board across from the Guidance Office (HS) and outside the Health room (Elementary). Benefits the Fitness Club.
• This year's Red Ribbon Week activities will include an essay contest, a poster contest, and a digital video contest. It is all open to grades 7-12 and winners will receive cash awards. The deadline is October 1st. See or email Mrs. Ream if you are interested in participating.
• There will also be a 1st annual 5K Run & Walk event in Somerset on Saturday, October 9th. Make a group to walk and join the fun with food, games, entertainment and more! For more information, please see or email Mrs. Ream.
• There will be a Leo’s Club meeting today, September 16th, in the health room from 12:35 – 1:05.
• SADD will have a meeting this FRIDAY (9/17). Those who signed up should attend. We will be voting on officers and discussing Red Ribbon Week

Reminder that the Newman Scholarship Meeting is on August 6th from 9:30 am to 10:00 am. We will decide closer to this date if we will have an in-person meeting or be virtual.


There are officially four Monday's until the first day of school! We are excited to see everyone after a long summer break! Lots of things have been happening at SELSD this summer and we are anxious to share them with you! Enjoy the remainder of your break! First Student Day is August 30, 2021. See you all then!


Recently members of the SELSD FFA Chapter - Ag & Animal Science Programs - participated in PA FFA State level contests. Mercadee Blocher participated in the state Vet Science contest. There were 102 students from chapters across the state that participated in this contest. We learned today that Cadee finished 1st in the state in the Vet Science contest! Cadee will be awarded a plaque and monetary award later this summer. Congratulations Cadee!
