Carly is a senior involved in chorus, SADD, FBLA, home ec, art, and fitness clubs. Outside of school, Carly loves spending time with her friends and family. Carly has been completing her community service hours in Breann Codispoti's classroom for two years. She taught kindergarten last year and is currently teaching special education. Carly enjoys working with the students and creating meaningful relationships with them. Through these experiences, Carly has gained a love for not only the students but helping them in the classroom. After high school, Carly is planning to continue her education by pursuing a dual certification in Elementary and Special Education. Doing community service with Mrs. Codispoti made Carly realize her desire to be an elementary teacher. The hands-on experiences Carly has been privileged to be a part of in the last few years have solidified her passion for being in the classroom. Carly is looking forward to creating more meaningful relationships in a classroom of her own one day.

Ava Wiltrout, a senior at Salisbury-Elk Lick, is the president of her senior class and secretary of
the Future Business Leader of America club (FBLA). She also participates as a member of her
school’s Council of Student Advisors (COSA), National Honors Society, and Fitness Club.
This past year, Ava worked to become a certified nursing assistant (CNA) with a specialty in
geriatrics through GoodWill Retirement Community. Obtaining her GNA is the first step in
Ava’s journey to becoming a registered nurse. When she isn’t at school or work, she enjoys
spending time with her family and friends. Being able to help out her community is a major part
of Ava’s life. She is included in various community service projects through and outside of her
school. The community projects she has helped with include Salisbury’s Relay for Life events
and participating as a student aid for one of her school’s English teachers. For the past four
years, Ava has also volunteered to do statistics for Salisbury’s girls’ volleyball teams. She takes
pride in her willingness to help people when they need it. Starting next fall Ava plans to attend
Frostburg State University majoring in Nursing. Her goal is to complete her 4-year degree there
and then start her career in the medical field. By being part of the medical field, she will be given
many opportunities to continue her passion for helping others in their time of need.
