Salisbury Lions Club Students of the Month for February and March:
Olivia Shunk is the daughter of Marc and Autumn Shunk. In school she is the President of the Leo Club, Vice President of Student Government, FBLA, and the class of 2024. She is also a member of Fitness Club, Ski Club, Pep Club, the Student Relay for Life Team, and the Varsity Volleyball Team. Outside of school she enjoys spending time outdoors with her friends and family. She also holds a part-time position as a waitress at the Casselman Restaurant in Grantsville, MD. Her favorite community service project that she has been involved in during her high school years has been coaching Elementary Volleyball to girls in grades 3-6. Her future plans are to attend Slippery Rock University and obtain a Bachelor’s of Science in Philanthropy and Nonprofit Management, with the goal of working for a nationwide nonprofit organization.
Ryan Rugg is the son of Brian and Wendy Rugg. Ryan’s in school activities and clubs include Fitness Club, Little Dribblers, and Varsity Basketball, which he has participated in for four years. His hobbies outside of school include hunting, fishing, hanging out with friends, and basketball. His list of community service projects include volunteering at the Goodwill nursing home, and helping with the Salisbury Elks Little Dribblers club during his school’s basketball season. He plans to attend more community service projects in the future. Ryan’s post high school plans include joining the workforce.
Walker Bunnell is the son of Gary and Julie Bunnell. He is a member of Fitness Club, and National Honors Society. He played varsity basketball for four years and played football for Meyersdale for four years. His hobbies include fishing, and working on his vehicles. Walker’s community service projects include volunteering at Goodwill Retirement Community, and also helped with little dribblers. His future plans are to join the electrical union, and become a certified electrician, after the 5 year apprenticeship.
Lilly Shunk, daughter of Michael and Rosann Shunk. She is a part of the National Honor Society, Treasure of her senior class, and vice president of our FFA chapter. Outside of school Lilly works at Reflecting Heaven Stables and enjoys working on her truck. Some community service projects that Lilly has participated in are making insulated cat boxes and helping provide Veterans breakfast at the school through FFA. After high school she plans on working at Browns Equine Hospital as a certified vet assistant.
