Stacey Broderick - Kindergarten Teacher

stacey

My name is Stacey Broderick and I am a kindergarten teacher at Salisbury.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I also received my early childhood certification from Penn State University. The majority of my experience has been at the the early childhood level. I was a pre-school teacher for various agencies for 13 years, and have currently been teaching kindergarten for the past 19 years. I truly enjoy this age group! They like to learn and have fun while they are doing it. It is always so exciting to see a child's face "light up" when they've learned or accomplished something new. I am blessed to be able to have my dream job and work in such a wonderful environment every day. This community, school, and staff feels like home.

I am married to our new school police officer Mr. Jim, and we have 1 grown daughter. Some things I love doing are spending time with my family and friends, reading, and going for long walks.

My email address is: brodericks@selsd.com

My school phone number is: 814-662-2733 ext. 1223

This year in kindergarten I will be teaching Reading, Science, Social Studies, Math, and personal/social skills. Our Reading Curriculum is Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Journeys 2017. Our Science Curriculum is Macmillan/McGraw Hill National Geographic Society 2002. Our Social Studies Curriculum is Scholastic's Let's Find Out. Our Math Curriculum is Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Go Math! Common Core 2015.

Grading Policy- In Kindergarten I use observational checklists in Reading and Math, as well as, physical grades obtained by independent classwork and tests in all subject areas. This allows me to truly assess a students understanding of concepts and skills presented throughout the year.
